Can you believe January is nearly over? Time means nothing, I guess, in this new weird age that we're all still navigating. But I love to look for things to celebrate. It makes life feel lovely and so much better. Here's what I loved this month!
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, V.E. Schwab: Ever heard the adage, ‘be careful what you wish for?’ Addie would have done well to heed that advice. She makes a deal to become immortal, only to find no one can remember her. What happens when she finally meets Henry? Read on and find out. (Unputdownable and the first book I have been able to read in ages.)
Wonder Woman 1984: Why y’all hating on this movie? It’s a commentary on the times we’re living through and I’m here for it. Diana is an incredible role model. I adore Patty Jenkins for telling this story. And hiiii, Steve Trevor is the Feminist Boyfriend we all need right now. (Only to come second to real-life gem, Doug Emhoff, our first Second Gentleman. Which leads me to…)
Watching history as Kamala Harris became the first Black, South Asian, AND female VP (!).
I’m not doing resolutions this year. I’m not trying to cut anything out and I’m not wasting energy on big goals yet. I’m giving myself a break because 2020 was A Lot.
What were you into this month?
